                                                      Introduction to
                 The Central Indiana Kennel Club
                                                     Indianapolis, IN

A small group of people dedicated to the advancement of purebred dogs started the Central Indiana Kennel Club 30 years ago. We are an AKC Member Club, and our AKC Delegate is President Sally Allen. We are an all-breed club with many exciting activities:

  • The Indy Winter Classic, a dog show held each February in conjunction with the Hoosier  Kennel Club, making a four-day cluster.
  • Microchip clinics, and Canine Good Citizen testing alone and with other dog events in central Indiana
  • Community activities such as Pet Expo and Pets in America
  • Sponsorship of two scholarships annually for Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine students
  • Christmas parties for a nursing facility and for a children's guardian home in the Indianapolis area
  • Pet care seminars at local schools
  • Donations to worthy organizations, such as funds for replacement of a city police dog, support of Marion County Animal Care and Control, and support of 4-H groups
  • Donations to local and surrounding Humane Societies to aid shelters in housing pets of flood victims in shelters themselves

    Meetings

The Central Indiana Kennel Club meets monthly on the first Tuesday of each month (unless otherwise posted) at 7:30 p.m. at the Brickyard Resort & Inn, 5350 West 16th Street in Speedway. Please visit us if you are interested in what we do. You need not be a breeder, show a dog, or even be a dog owner to become a member.

We welcome anyone interested in taking part in our ambitions and activities, and who agrees to abide by our By-laws and Constitution.

The annual membership fee is $8.00 for an individual, and $12.00 for a couple.
